South Asian Civil Ceremonies

Bringing peace to the families of South Asian interfaith couples.

A funny thing happened as I was distributing my business card to the owners and managers of South Asian businesses in Hicksville, Long Island today. Well, actually, not so funny; much better than funny. A new direction leading to success.

Mrs. X, who, together with her husband runs a sweets shop on Broadway, made a powerful suggestion. Truly, it was as if a lightbulb had gone off in her mind. She explained. Unbeknownst to me, when people of different Hindu castes, or Hindus and Muslims, plan to marry here, the religious details of the ceremony can cause real heartache in parents and relatives, heartache that arouses controversies and arguments. I could tell from her manner that she has seen and heard bitter struggles. So, she said, an interfaith civil ceremony would sidestep all of that, calm everyone down, and make for a more peaceful and loving celebration. She encouraged me to start reaching out.

Here I am.
