With my virtual wedding officiant service, you can say your vows anywhere with an internet connection. The experience is almost as real as a traditional ceremony - and has some added benefits (below) and I am here to guide you through it all, so you'll be able to enjoy every moment of your special day.
A virtual wedding occurs when some or all of your guests watch the ceremony remotely via video chat platforms such as Zoom, FaceTime, Facebook Live or Google Meet. Couples decide to have a "virtual" wedding for various reasons. While the most obvious reason these days is COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, a virtual wedding is the perfect option for couples who want to keep their ceremony intimate and personal, without limiting the number of guests invited. Quite often it comes down to just wanting guests outside of those who live nearby to be able to attend the wedding more conveniently and at less cost. Also, the officiant (that would be me, I hope) usually charges a bit less because there’s no travel involved -- no traffic, no parking, no tolls, no gas or electric fill-up, no rain, no snow.... With this option, friends and family members who may not be able to physically attend can still join in on all the excitement and festivities from their own locations.
Now that we've established what virtual weddings are, you might be wondering how they work and whether or not there's anything special you need to do ahead of time for one. The short answer: not really. One thing I’ve noticed is that many couples like to decorate their living space for their Zoom ceremonies. Very nice! Or, according to your taste, it can be casual, with no decorations.
With a regular wedding, you'll likely need to reserve the venue and set up ahead of time; with a virtual wedding all that's required is for someone on either side (typically the officiant) to open the link in Messages or email, and off we go.
Zoom provides an easy-to-use interface that allows you to connect with me and all of your guests and share screens, video call, or chat. My account allows for unlimited attendees. Recently, I officiated a Zoom wedding with 150! No guest has to have a Zoom account; as long as you have a smart phone, a tablet, a laptop or a desktop computer, with a good internet signal, you can attend a Zoom meeting. The advantage of using Zoom or a platform like it is that the meeting can be recorded and shared. On all platforms, you or someone CAN take screenshots. If so, I hope you add them to my Photo Gallery. Share the joy!
I look forward to preparing for your wedding with you, bringing you to the “I do” and, finally, pronouncing you married. Let’s connect!
