Study Shofar with a Patient Teacher

The shofar is an instrument.  You can learn how to play it.

In 2012, The Jewish Center of North West Jersey engaged Cantor Pincus to lead a six-month shofar program to prepare a wholy new group of shofarists, with in-person visits and videoconferences for distance learning.  The Cantor has already taught beginners on Skype, all the way to being able to play in their temples.

Both the Hebrew Union College in New York and The Jewish Theological Seminary have invited Cantor Pincus to give workshops this year.
International Day of Shofar Study

Last year, it was celebrated on Rosh Chodesh Elul, Monday evening, August 29 to Wednesday evening, August 31.  A big success -- ten shofar events across North America and Great Britain.

Here is an article about one of the events - a "Shofaron"
organized by Richard Sachs of Tinton Falls, NJ:

Below is Cantor Pincus's group of players on the NPR Radiolab podcast "The Walls of Jericho"  variously members of the Hebrew Tabernacle and Temple Shaaray Tefila, both in NYC.
